Your guess on when Pioneer will release a firmware for the DVR-107 is as good as ours.
And I wouldn't worry too much about your 8x RITEK media. I'm sure we'll manage to produce a patch that you'll like

I'm a newbie here, so forgive me if these questions have been answered...
Is there a Pioneer DVR-107D RPC1 firmware of any revision, and if so, where do I get it?
Can the firmware be read off the drive and then modded, or is an official firmware released by the manufacturer required in order to be modded?
Will the proposed firmware that is to remove the limitation on media burning speed also include a RPC1 modification?

I used a lot of time searching for pioneer 107d firmware - but i did not find any yet. The reason i started searching - was becaause i heard that someone got permission to lend a beta of the new firmware to write a test on the 107D. So i guess i hoped i could find something around.
But it seems that neither Pioneer has released anything yet (newst is 1.05 i think)
And there is nobody that have made a "modified" firmware yet either.
Not that i know of anyway.

Forgive my ignorance, but is the Pioneer DVR-107 firmware the same as for the 107D? Or did you just forget the "D"? When it is modified, will it work on the 107D?

Here is a short info about the A07 in english:
http://www.zdnet.com.au/reviews/hardware/storage/0,39023427,20281179,00.htm
Have had Pioneer ever made a difference with firmware between bulk and retail? I would say no, but maybe someone else has more insight.
Greetings

well thats 9572327.62 bytes/sec , or 9.35 Mbytes/sec.
It can go faster though, as i only have a PII Xeon machine
running at 450MHz.
and the really good news : i used a EUR 1.25 Gigamaster-RT04 4x DVD-R, which is RITEK.G04
Cheers,
Robert
